A Football Life, Week 17 Preview

I know I’m a little late and one player in our championship matchup has already played with CeeDee Lamb scoring 14.40   points for Brandon Saunders in the Cowboys' Thursday night win over Tennessee, but he and William Battle deserve a proper preview post after weathering the storm of two strong teams in the AFL’s wild card round and advancing to Sabol Bowl X.   That’s right, we’re up to our 10th edition of the AFL Championship game! It’s hard to believe that our league has been running for a decade and is about to crown its 10th champion.   Before we preview their game, let’s quickly recap Week 16 and our wild card round.   Brandon beat Cory Puffett in a high-scoring affair. They had the two highest scoring teams in the league in Week 16, including teams competing in the consolation ladder. NFL Week 17 Picks

Cory won the host contest for a third straight week, but it was another sub-.500 week for all of The Sportsballers. Andrew Perez  and the other fans fared much better. He got nine games right and both  James Dailey  and  Sean Kennedy went 8-8 on the week.   Dailey  remains the sole leader in the fan contest with 106 points, but  Perez  is now just one point behind.   You can compete against us, too! A Football Life, Week 16 Preview

The playoffs are here! Our four-team field is set, as are the consolation brackets. With the regular season in the rear-view, it’s time to look ahead to the final weeks of the fantasy season. We have our semi-final matchups this week, pitting Cory Puffett against Brandon Saunders and Sean Kennedy against William Battle, then Sabol Bowl X next week between the two winners, followed by the first ever AFL Pro Bowl between Cory and Sean in Week 18.   Before we check out the first-round playoff matchups, let’s quickly break down the two consolation brackets. We’ll look at who is playing and what they are playing for or playing to avoid.   Butkus Bracket Named for arguable the greatest playing in NFL history to never appear in a playoff game, the winner of the Butkus Bracket will earn the first selection in our Draft Pick Draft.   Last year’s Butkus Award winner was Cory Puffett, who turned the selection into the first overall pick, with which he selected Christian McCaffrey.
