NFL Conference Championship Picks

Congratulations to Eric on a perfect 4-0 Divisional Playoff round! He still trails Cory in our playoff picks contest and trails both Cory and Evan in our season-long contest, but he can still potentially take second place on the season depending on these final three games. Andrew Perez  and  James Dailey  each got three picks correct in this second weekend of the playoffs. Andrew leads the playoff fan contest with six points, one ahead of  Sean Kennedy . Andrew and James are also tied in the season-long fan contest. No other fan is still in contention, so we’ll see how these last few games shake out.   Let’s get to our Conference Championship picks! A Football Life, New Rules for 2023

I have been a fantasy football commissioner for 13 years now. It’s a responsibility I take very seriously. It’s a game, yes. It’s a bit silly, sure. But no league can simply run itself and it’s important to me that I perform my duties responsibly and in a way that will ensure my league-mates are confident that they are being treated fairly in the league. As such, I am constantly keeping an eye out for new ideas in the fantasy football community to make the game more fun, and more fair, while still keeping our league  ours . My league-mates might be surprised to know just how many ideas I see that never reach any of our offseason ballots.   We’re a keeper league, and while I floated the idea this offseason of converting to a dynasty league, we had a few members indicate that they are not interest in dynasty fantasy football at this time. I’m still very much open to the idea in the future, but if we do it I’d prefer that we convert our current league rather than starting a secon...

A Football Life, 2022 Season Recap

A Football Life  has reached its aluminum anniversary as we wrapped up our 10th season just a few weeks ago. I know I’m more than a little bit late getting this recap out, but I like to focus on record-keeping in the days (or weeks, if it takes me that long) immediately following the end of the season so that I can include as much relevant and interesting information as possible in this final write-up of the year.   The first thing to get to is, of course, our latest Sabol Bowl Champion,  William Battle !   William flew under the radar for much of the season. He put together a solid 9-6 campaign but finished in a tie with  Evan Ash  for the third best record in the AFL. Neither won their respective divisions, so the wild card spot came down to their Week 11 meeting, which William won handily by a score of 160.19-91.86.   In addition to the good fortune needed to earn the wild card spot, William got a lot of luck throughout the year. He was involved in ...
