NFL Week 9 Picks

Once this week’s podcast is up on Podomatic and iTunes, we’ll insert the links into this post. Eric led the Sportsballers for a fourth week in a row and was perfect on points picks for the second consecutive week. He now has a pretty solid advantage in our competition as we pass our halfway mark of the season. A Football Life, Week 8

Our league bounced right back after a low-scoring Week 7 to record the fourth highest scoring week in league history. We passed our halfway points of the regular season and got our third week of divisional games in. There will be no more divisional matchups until the final three weeks of the season, during which time every team will play each of their division rivals one last time as we flesh out the playoff picture. Adam Perez will have to play without Patrick Mahomes, but he has Mitchell Trubisky who has been eating just fine in fantasy (and Adam is well out of the playoff race right now). Anthony Battle, though he has the same record as Adam, is only two games out of his division. He’ll have to play Cory Puffett without Jared Goff, but at l...

Eric's Week 8 Winners

"Never leave the table on a heater."  We'll see how that sage advice works out for me.  After a slow start, I've been dominating The Sportsballers Pick'em contest among my fellow co-hosts over the last few weeks, and winners have been equally fruitful after putting together another flawless string of bets.  Something tells me I should quit while I'm ahead, but that's no fun.  Let's finish out the first half of the season strong.  No fancy stuff this week, just five bets against the spread.  Here we go. Miami +7.5 over Houston The Texans are 2-5 ATS, including 0-4 ATS in home games.  They're impressively overrated and have been for a long time.  The Texans should be able to win this game, but by more than a TD?  Nope, nope, nope.  Take the points. Washington -1 over NY Giants As a Redskins fan, I should probably know better than to put money on them to beat the Giants, especially at MetLife Stadium.  That being sai...
