Eric's Week 10 Winners

In a week where sports books took a bath, I was happy to cash in.  5-0, including a winner on the money line, has me feeling extra juiced for Week 10.  Let's go to work.

Washington +3 over Tampa Bay

I bet against Fitzmagic last week, and despite Carolina deciding it was nap time throughout the third quarter, the Panthers ended up getting it together and winning by two touchdowns.  The Redskins got exposed by Atlanta last week, as predicted by yours truly, but they're still better than Tampa Bay, so I'm taking the DC boys and the points on the road.  HTTR.

Indianapolis -3 over Jacksonville

The Colts are on a bit of a roll and are coming off a bye.  They're only laying three points at home to a team that has lost four of five.  The Jaguars are done.  Lay the points.

Chicago -6.5 over Detroit

After riding the Nathan Peterman wave of incompetence to a winner, I'm backing the Bears again this week.  The Lions effectively waved the white flag on their season when they decided to be sellers at last week's trading deadline, and it showed on Sunday as they let Matt Stafford get creamed by Minnesota to the tune of 17 hits and 10 sacks.  I can't see a much better outcome for them this week against an even better Bears pass rush.  Chicago rolls at home by double digits.

Miami +10 over Green Bay

I've made my feelings known about Green Bay's current situation and their quarterback on our podcast, so I won't rehash that here.  The bottom line is that the Packers offense is less than stellar.  Combine that with a bad defense and I can't justify a 10 point spread, even at home against the Dolphins.  Miami sneaks in the back door this week.

NY Giants (ML +133) over San Francisco

I'm making a likely ill-advised decision to pass on the three points and pick New York to win this one straight-up.  I'm not going to get caught up in Nick Mullens hype just because he shredded a Raiders team that quit on their season in August.  The Giants are coming off a bye and have game film on the new QB, so I'm expecting the Giants to pull out a win in Santa Clara on Monday Night.  Call it Eli's last stand.

Bonus content: Cincinnati +4.5 over New Orleans

My Saints fandom precludes me from betting against them, but I feel compelled to say that this is one of the best opportunities of the week.  The Saints are catching a little bit too much love due to recent wins over NFC contenders, and the Bengals are still a solid team that deserves some respect playing at home.  No AJ Green makes this a tough swing for Cincy straight-up, but I think this game is closer to a pick'em and has all the makings of a trap game.  I'd recommend taking the points.

Week 9: 5-0 (+4.7 units)

Overall: 27-13-1 (+16.3 units)
