NFL Week 4 Picks

This week’s podcast was recorded Wednesday night. You can listen to our show on  iTunes ,  Spotify ,  Google Play , and  SoundCloud . This year we are using confidence points for a second competition to hang our hats on against each other. After Cory led with 115 points, each co-host has won a week, but Cory still trails on the season. Evan leads both the points and picks competitions while Eric is second in points and Cory is second in picks. This week we assign confidence points from 1-15 since there are two teams on bye. A Football Life, Week 3

Scoring can be a finicky thing in fantasy football. Teams can be wildly inconsistent, which brought about a power metric that begins factoring into our power rankings this week. League-wide scoring, too, can be remarkably inconsistent. Week 1 was, at the time, the fourth highest scoring week in league history. Scoring settings brought about four years ago, in addition to some new defense and kicker scoring changes that don’t guarantee but certainly allow for higher scoring, make it difficult to fall out of our top 40. I certainly doubt we’ll ever get a second sub-1000 point week like Week 11 of 2015 when our 12 owners totaled just 995.30 points or a 90.9-point average winning score like we did in Week 4 of that season. While we didn’t come anywhere close to missing the top 40, Week 2 was still only the 19th highest scoring week at the time, and now falls to #20 after this past week. With 1480.12 points, Week 3 was our second highest scoring week in league history. Our s...

Eric's Week 3 Winners

Week 2 was one of great vindication.  Cory accused me of being stoned when I picked New England to cover their monstrous 18.5 point spread last week, and lo and behold, they did.  Twice.  Sorry, Puff.  Leave the winners to me. Another 3-2 week has me feeling optimistic, but we've got a long way to go.  Here's what I've got for Week 3.  As Chris "Fredo" Cuomo would say, let's get after it! NY Jets @ New England Line: New England -23 After a curb-stomping of the pathetic Dolphins, the Patriots return home to play another joke of a football outfit in the Jersey/B Jets.  To make matters worse, the Jets are working on their third quarterback after injuries/illness have sidelined the first two guys.  The Jets have next to no chance to win this game, but do I expect them to lose by three touchdowns?  As bad as the Jets are, they aren't Miami.  23 is far too large of a number for this game, so I'm snatching the points and will be ho...

This year we are using confidence points for a second competition to hang our hats on against each other. Evan took over both competitions in Week 2 as he not only, once again, got one more pick right than did Cory or Eric, but he also did a much better job of managing his confidence points than did his two co-hosts.
