Eric's Week 2 Winners

Yikes.  With a 1-4 start against the spread and five units flushed down the toilet, maybe you should read someone else's picks and save yourself some money.  I'll continue to try and find some of that 2018 juju in Week 2.  Here goes nothing.

Week 2 Game Picks:

Ravens (-7) @ Texans

Twitter loves to keep reminding me that DeShaun Watson and Lamar Jackson played an epic game when they met in college way back when.  It seems nonsensical to me, considering that these two met in the NFL last year, but with the results of that game being much more lopsided, I can see why promoters would want to avoid mentioning that one.  As for me, I'm expecting a repeat of last year's affair.  The Texans got blown off the field last year and have gotten worse, while Baltimore has gotten better.  I'll lay the tuddy and take the Ravens.  Caw.

The Pick: Ravens -7

Jaguars (+7.5) @ Titans

Gardner Minshew revived some mania from last year with a hyper-efficient outing in a win against the Colts, while Tennessee struggled mightily but was able to pull out a tight victory against Denver.  I've been harsh on Jacksonville early in this season, but they've shown they still have a little something left in the tank from their glory days of losing the 2017 AFC championship game.  The Titans are clearly the superior team, but more than a touchdown is a lot to lay for a team that cannot make field goals under seemingly any circumstance.  Titans win, but the Jaguars cover the large spread.

The Pick: Jaguars +7.5

Bills (-5.5) @ Dolphins

Buffalo rolled over the Jets last week, but, well, they're the Jets.  I'm more concerned about what Miami showed, or didn't show, in New England.  This is supposed to be the weakest Patriot team in two decades, and they controlled the game for all 60 minutes against Miami on Sunday.  I have Buffalo and New England as neck-and-neck to win this weak division, so I have to imagine the Bills take care of business and win this game with some authority.  Maybe next time, Dolphins.

The Pick: Bills -5.5

Chiefs (-9) @ Chargers

Kansas City picked up right where they left off by rolling over the Texans eight days ago, and I expect more of the same against a rebuilding Chargers team.  Tyrod Taylor can't keep up with Mahomes, hon, even with the Chiefs spotting Los Angeles nine points.  The Chargers had a weird win over a bad Bengals team in week one, but that doesn't mean they're going to hang with Kansas City.  Andy and I can grab a cheeseburger afterwords to celebrate.

The Pick: Chiefs -9

Saints -6 @ Raiders

The absence of Michael Thomas will be tough for New Orleans to overcome offensively, but they still have Alvin Kamara and one of the best QB-coach combos in league history, so I expect they'll be able to make it work against a bad Raiders defense.  I also believe this Saints defense is loaded.  I don't particularly believe in Las Vegas' passing game, and New Orleans' vaunted front should slow down Josh Jacobs and keep the Raiders from playing ball control.  I think the Saints bounce back offensively this week and hammer the Raiders on Monday night.  Who dat?

The Pick: Saints -6

Eric's Week 2 Ticket (5 units):

2 leg parlay: Chiefs -9 and Ravens -7 (2 units to gain 5)

Jaguars +7.5

Bills -5.5

Saints -6

Week 1 Results: 1-4 ATS (-5 units)
