Aces Only Association, Week 20 Afterword

Our regular season has concluded and the playoff field is set. The first round of our playoffs will feature top seed Cory Puffett against fourth seed Andrew Perez. Sam Martin, despite being in Cory’s division, is the #2 seed and will face Evan Ash in the other semi-final matchup.

Before we get to end-of-season stats, there were a handful of notable events over the last five weeks of the season. We saw two matchups between the top two scoring teams of the week. In both instances, Sam defeated Cory. In fact, over the course of our season Cory was involved in all five instances of the week’s top two scorers facing off and he went 2-3 in those games.

This week’s matchup between Sam and Cory saw the two total 305.75 points, the third highest combined score of the season.

We also saw two instances of the bottom two scoring teams of the week facing off. Sean lost both and was involved in four of the five such instances over the course of the season.

Congratulations are in order to Sam and Evan, neither of whom ever scored fewer than 100 points in a week all season.

Cory and Eric Meyer tied for the league lead in Rickey Henderson Awards, given weekly to the league’s top scorer. Each of them won six while Sam won five and Evan won three.
